About the Author - John M. Reshetar
A voice Guided by Faith and Imagination

John Reshetar lives and works in Reading, Pennsylvania, where he continues to merge his passion for writing with a distinguished career in building and construction. A published author for over four decades, John’s literary journey spans guidebooks, poetry, short stories, essays, and reflections on life’s everyday moments. John’s earlier works include The Complete Pocket Guide to Atlantic City Casinos (1980s) and Got A Minute – A Collection of Minute Poems. These titles showcase his ability to traverse genres—from non‑fiction practical guides to poetic introspection—reflecting a wide range of interests and skill. He often explains that from the very beginning, writing has been his way of giving voice to thoughts, feelings and observations about the world around him. Academically, John holds a B.S. in Environmental Science from Rutgers University, followed by a Master’s Degree in Pollution Control from Penn State University. Leveraging this background, he built a successful career outside publishing: he is the owner of Homestead Builders, and over the years has overseen the construction of more than 300 homes and commercial buildings. This foundation of professional achievement informs his writing in subtle ways—he brings structure, discipline and a builder’s eye to both his prose and verse. Writing remains for John not only a lifelong devotion but also a deeply personal endeavour. He has composed numerous short stories, essays and poems for family and friends, believing that the best writing is born of genuine emotion, everyday life issues and thoughtful reflection on current events. John’s steady marriage of 52 years and role as father to three children continue to enrich his sense of life’s texture, grounding his author voice in shared human experience. The photo featured on this site was taken during his travels in Scotland two years ago—a reminder that the world beyond one’s hometown often provides fresh inspiration and perspective. John welcomes readers into his world—a place where curiosity, experience and a love for language converge.
The Vision Behind The Prophecy of Twelve
In The Prophecy of Twelve, John brings together his lifelong study of theology, history, and human nature. The novel began as a simple question: What if twelve ordinary men were chosen to carry a divine mission in the modern world — a world that had almost forgotten God?

The story grew into a powerful allegory about unity, faith, and the triumph of light over darkness. It is both a thrilling narrative and a reflection on the state of humanity today — a reminder that redemption is possible, even in the darkest hour.
A Journey of Words and Faith
John’s journey as an author began with a love for storytelling and a calling to share messages of hope. Over the years, his experiences — personal, professional, and spiritual — have shaped his voice into one that inspires reflection and faith in readers around the world.

He believes that stories are one of the most powerful ways to bring people closer to truth. Through his books, he hopes to remind every reader that even in chaos, there is a divine plan — and that the light never truly fades.
